A modern redesign for the webshop of VPRO 'gidscovers'

the challenge

The VPRO used to have a webshop where people could buy covers of their magazine. This webshop was outdated and needed a fresh touch to keep up with the digital identity.

While the digital identity of the VPRO brand is subject to constant change, the webshop of their covers had not seen any major update in a long time. My task was to provide the VPRO with inspiration for a new webdesign.

For this project, I was pretty much free to decide my own course. I received a package of styles and fonts that were used on other apps and websites of the VPRO. From there it was my task to create something fresh.

This project marked my first real experience in interface prototyping using Figma, which meant a lot of trial and error and discovering. The end result was a webdesign with working prototype, ready to be developed. But unfortunately, before the design could go into development, the VPRO decided to discontinue the covers webshop.

My role

I designed many iterations of different pages of the VPRO webshop and developed a combined prototype. I also built a 3D visual gallery experience for customers to see the covers in a VR setting.
