I got my first camera when I was 9 years old, and since then I take one with me on every trip I go on. Examples of some of my shots are displayed. But I do not only photograph vacations, I have been a freelance photographer for business events, dinners and parties as well over the past few years.
Photography has taught me to see with a sharpened eye, focusing on composition, light and texture.

I like putting playlists together and mixing music to entertain myself and the people around me.
DJ gigs
During the Covid pandemic, I spent my free time learning some new skills, of which many did not stick after. But one skill that did stick was DJing. Even though I am not really musically gifted, my selection of music seems to resonate with people. I like finding unknown tracks and sharing them with the crowd. I started out at house parties, but soon got booked for paid gigs as well.
My favorite genre would be 70s disco / 90s house. If you want to hear some of the tracks I played during an event I organized called What The Funk, here is the Spotify list on the right.

Sports are a big part of my life because they keep me moving, focused, and competitive.
Sports have always been a big part of my life. I have two brothers who stimulated my competitive nature. As a child I tried almost every sport that my school had to offer. I like team sports as well as solo sports. On the left, my favorite sports are displayed.
Exercise gives me focus and keeps me energized. Therefore I always make sure to free up some time for my favorite sports.

I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to see quite a few countries around the world, and I'm far from done.
On the map above, my visited countries so far are visible, and some of my favorite trips are highlighted. I experience extreme joy when travelling. Not only to escape the Dutch weather, but also to get in direct contact with foreign cultures and beautiful places. Hopefully, the map above will get filled in further over the upcoming years.
